Join us for an evening of O-koto music featured in the "NextGen Geijutsuka: Future Stars of Japanese Cultural Arts" online concert series on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at 8pm(pst).
This week we will feature NextGen Geijutsuka (artist) Brian Mitsuhiro Wong, an American of Japanese and Chinese descent, who won the “Grand Prix” award for achieving the highest scores on his teaching examinations from the Sawai Soukyokuin Koto Conservatory in Tokyo, Japan in July 2006.
Brian will also be joined for a duet with Special Guest Nao Yamashita who was also selected a finalist in All Japan Koto Competition in 2018. She is currently under the tutelage of Takada Kaori, an instructor at Sawai Koto Institute, and is also an instructor at Sawai Koto Institute.
